this is the most sizeable town near you about a 40 minute drive, it is a typical Tico working town with everything you will possibly need, many restaurants and stores to chose from, but not a tourist town so don't expect souviner shops. But if you happen to be around during a festival it is quite exciting, they will erect a fullsize bull ring in a week,  try to make it to the events they are worth the effort. Watch as the local guys go into the ring and carry on the tradition of throwing fruit at each other before the bull riding begins, can be very entertaining. Even if you are encouraged to join the chasing of the bulls as some of our guests have been, we highly advice against this. The locals have grown up doing this and you most likely have not. But enjoy watching!
